Using Your Nature Site to Teach About the Updated Science TEKS on the Engineering Design Process with Canyon Lake Gorge

June 12, 2024 2pm

Partner Exclusive Webinar with Stephanie Regets, Program Director with the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority - Canyon Lake Gorge

To dam or not to dam! Stephanie Regets, Program Director with the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority - Canyon Lake Gorge, will share how their nature site teaches students about the value and purpose of dams and will demonstrate how it directly ties the lesson to the new STEM and the UPDATED Science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) that focus on the Engineering Design Process.

Attendees will see step by step how to build a dam with different materials using the Engineering Design Process just like the students do when visiting the Gorge for a field trip. You will come away with a tangible example of how to utilize the natural features of your site to meet the updated Science TEKS through fun, hands-on, and engaging lessons that emphasize important engineering design and science concepts.

Webinar offered at 2:00 Central on June 12th

A Zoom Link will be emailed to registrants on the morning of the webinar

Ticket sales will end on June 11th
