What’s Living in Your Stream? Exploring Water Quality Through Macroinvertebrates
March 28, 2026 10am
Virtual Teacher Workshop with Melissa Mullins, Baylor University Center for Reservoir and Aquatic Systems Research, and Dr. Kelly Albus, Texas Women's University.
Discover how tiny aquatic creatures can unlock big lessons about ecosystems, water quality, and science in action.
Get your feet wet with macroinvertebrates- the tiny aquatic creatures that tell us big stories about water quality! We’ll explore how scientists use stream “bugs” to measure ecosystem health and how you can bring those same investigations into your classroom. You’ll see real-world field demonstrations from the Brazos River, get a ready-to-use classroom activity, and leave with resources to connect your students to citizen science projects.
