Presenter: Jennie Sawyer
Outdoor learning environments are crucial for young learners, particularly those with limited access to outdoor play opportunities due to busy schedules, socioeconomic status, or geographic limitations. This session aims to highlight the importance and benefits of outdoor classroom environments, highlighting how they can enhance children's educational experiences and overall development.
In this session we will explore the many ways in which outdoor classrooms can provide free play opportunities, promote exploration of natural spaces, and enrich the teaching of science through hands-on experiences. We will also discuss setting up these spaces using low-cost materials and natural elements as well as activities that encourage student exploration.
